By on May 21, 2013

How do you build an online network of influencers? Many social media experts say that this is the key to all content success. For bloggers, nothing is more important than attracting influencers to your brand. Today, I’m going to give you 10 more valuable tips on how to do this effectively, so that your readership booms!

#1: Create a Post Honoring Them

Spend some time putting together a sincere blog post about the influencer’s career and contribution to your niche. Then add a link from their blog to yours so that they can find it.

#2: Review One of Their Products

Take a look at their list of products on offer and choose the best one to review. Then create the best review of that product online. The influencer will appreciate the free exposure, as you’ll publish this review on your blog and syndicate on your social media pages.

#3: Send Them The Link on Twitter

Create these special blog posts for them, then connect with them on Twitter. After you’ve broken the ice and chatted with them for a while, send them the link to your blog post via the direct message system. They’ll love it.

#4: Include Them in a Pinterest Infographic

The next time you create an infographic, use the top 5 influencers in your field to add ‘opinion’ to the stats. Believe me those influencers would like nothing better than to appear in a well-made, popular infographic.

#5: Connect on LinkedIn Then Endorse Their Skills

Connect with the influencer on LinkedIn, once you have directed them to your blog and chatted with them on Twitter. Then spend some time endorsing all of their best skills, and writing a review about them for their page (if you’ve worked with them).

#6: Create a Twitter Vine of Their Work

Vine is not just for live footage, it can also be a great way to introduce someone in a blog post. Plus, people will syndicate a Vine of a famous person, and use it over and over again. Simply compile their best work or clips and publish on Twitter.

#7: Showcase Their Videos on Your Channel

Curating content is part of your job as a blogger, so why not curate the content of influencers that you want to get to notice you? Post their videos on your YouTube channel, along with blog reviews of the video.

#8: Create an Advocate Post on Google+

Plus one the heck out of your influencers, and give them the chance to do the same – by posting an article on Google+ about them. These advocate posts upsell, cross sell and rave about the influencer and their products. They will plus one them.

#9: Send Them a Free Copy of Your Book or Whitepaper

Making powerful friends is easy when you have things to give away. Make sure that you send your next book or whitepaper off to your chosen influencers. Ask for a review, or make it clear that you want to be friends. They’ll appreciate the free content.

#10: Become a Frequent Blog Advocate

Get influencers to your blog by creating one outstanding comment on their blog every single day – more if you have time. Always share, like and syndicate their blog posts. You are now their best blog reader and a friend. The relationship has been established!

Using these 10 excellent techniques you can get in touch with the right influencers in your niche. Prove to them that you are worth knowing, and you could make the connections you need to spread your blog content far and wide. It’s not about what you know, but who you know that counts!
