Award-Winning Blogger Explains How to Get Great Marketing Results

By on October 29, 2018

When you want the best results, you look for the best teachers. They’ve achieved what you want to achieve and have the experience, tips, techniques, and tools to make the process go even more smoothly.

Matt Heinz, a marketing expert and award-winning blogger, is a great example. I had the pleasure of interviewing Matt on a recent Magnificent Marketing Podcast.

We talked about how to get better results from automated marketing, and what many companies are doing right…and wrong.

Automated Marketing: How to Make It Work for You

A lot of people are getting the idea of automated marketing wrong. They think it’s a system that you just plug in and that’s the end of it. All your marketing worries are over.

Unfortunately, that’s not how it works.

Your sales and marketing teams will still need to have a very active role in your automated system and there really is no way around this if you want to do things the right and most effective way.

This is a good thing because it means your sales and marketing teams have to be on the same page, and this benefits your customers and your company.

Customers feel more comfortable making a purchase if they get the same input from the sales team that they get from the marketing team. If there’s confusion between these two teams, customers won’t think you have it together and won’t want to invest in your product.

So the first thing you need to do is get your whole team on the same page.

And this is great for getting your strategy together – another important step, according to Heinz.

Ask your team the following questions:

  • What is our goal?
  • Who is our ideal client?
  • What are their needs and wants?
  • What issues are they facing that our product can help with?

Matt calls this being client-centric.

When your automated campaigns are based on the customer’s needs, they’re likely to be more successful.

Take a Breath and Start at the Very Beginning

I just want to reiterate here that one of the best things you can do for your company and your marketing efforts is to start at the beginning.

It’s so easy to get caught up in the excitement of an automated system freeing up your team and providing you with really good results.

The problem is that so many people end up plugging the system in and just expecting it to work well all on its own.

That’s not how automation works, and we wouldn’t want it that way anyway.

We all like the human touch. And when we figure out the best way to approach our audience via emails, blogs, and social media posts – prospects recognize that.

They see that you care about them. When you care about them – that’s when they’ll start caring about you and your product.

So remember – don’t get ahead of yourself. Step back, take a breath, and start at the very beginning.
