Hello everyone, this is David Ahn – Social Media Manager at SMMU – and welcome to This Week in Social Media.

Our topic of the week is Twitter and, as you may know by now, we recently updated the course so that you have the latest information you need to succeed on this social network.

We know your time is valuable, so we have hand-picked two important articles that are absolutely crucial in your social strategy for Twitter.

Do you use Instagram or Twitpic to upload your images? You probably won’t after reading the first article below.

Here’s why: Dan Zarrella, social media scientist at HubSpot, recently performed a study on which he found that he could almost guarantee that your image is 94% more likely to be retweeted if you upload your images using the method we reveal in article one below. Even more shocking is this is a much higher retweet rate than images including Instagram, Twitpic, or Facebook links. Check it out now.

The second article shows you the one thing that you should never automate on your Twitter account. Even worse, if you are doing this it can severely damage your online reputation. Read the second article to learn what not to do.

Now learn these best practices right now, and you will be one more step ahead of your competition.

Thanks for tuning in and send us a tweet to @SMMagic if the articles helped you today.
